Membership in the Canadian Society is open to any Canadian resident, Canadian citizen, or any Canadian registered corporation.
There are two basic categories for membership: individual and corporate. All members of the Canadian Society are automatically members of the International Society.
As the Canadian Society of Air Safety Investigators does not accept credit cards, it is not possible to apply for membership on line. If you are interested in applying for membership, look over the classes listed below.
A two page application form may be downloaded and reviewed or printed. Once printed, it will need to be mailed with the appropriate application fee to the membership office. If you have questions about the form or if you need information on current members that will be able to sign your application - contact the executive.
Individuals can qualify for membership in one of six different classifications. Each classification has specific criteria which must be met.
Qualifications: An individual who is, or has been, actively engaged in the investigation of aircraft accidents or incidents. Or an individual who, for five years, has conducted accident prevention activities designed to identify, eliminate or control aviation hazards before they result in accidents or incidents. Such an individual may be a representative from aircraft manufacturers, air carriers, the military, or government agencies, or a member of an aviation professional group.
Aircraft accident litigation is not qualifying experience for this class of membership.
Qualifications: An air safety investigator who is, or has been, actively engaged in the investigation of aircraft accidents but who at this time fails to meet the requirements for full membership.
Aircraft accident litigation is not qualifying experience for this class of membership.
Qualifications: Any person who is, or has been, engaged in the promotion of air safety including representatives from aircraft manufacturers, air carriers, the military, other government agencies, members of aviation professional groups and members of legal and law enforcement organizations.
Qualifications: Any person who is at least a half time student at an accredited institution of learning at the baccalaureate level or above and is sponsored for membership by a faculty member of the institution that the applicant attends or by an ISASI/CSASI member in any class.
Both the "Fellow" classification, and "Honorary" classification listed below are by nomination only. ISASI recognizes special achievements in the aviation safety and accident investigation fields with either of these two classifications.
Any organization which has an interest in aviation safety may become a Corporate Member in CSASI. Full details and benefits of corporate membership may be discussed by contacting the executive.
